CAT5 (Category 5) is a high performance twisted 4 pair cable, which is designed for characteristics of up to 100 MHz. This cable is used for Ethernet networks running at 10 or 100 Mbps.
CAT5E (Category 5 Enhanced) has now superseded CAT5 and is of a higher standard. It is designed for transmission speeds up to 1 gigabit per second. To bring further flexibility and mobility to your network, we also deliver wireless solutions and provide data network hardware installation.
CAT6 (Category 6) is backwards compatible with CAT5 and CAT5e and is an ideal solution where a high performance cable is needed. It is designed to be future proof against tomorrows networking requirements.
The main difference between CAT5e and CAT6 is the extension of the bandwidth from 100MHz to 250 MHz. In addition, the physical makeup of the cable allows for better signal to noise ratio with minimal loss, which relates to faster and more reliable networks.
Fibre optic cables can be easily damaged if they are not correctly handled or installed. It is important that certain procedures be followed in the handling of these cables to avoid damage and limiting their performance. Optical fibres require special care during installation to ensure reliable operation. Installation guidelines regarding minimum bend radius, tensile loads, twisting, squeezing, or pinching of cable must be followed. Cable connectors should be protected from contamination and scratching at all times. Violation of any of these parameters causes increased attenuation or permanent damage to the cable therefore its essential you choose a professional company to complete your installation.

Aspirating Smoke Detection
Rollins group also install Aspirating Smoke Detectors (ASD) as they offer many advantages over passive smoke detectors. They continually draw air through their sensors, meaning they don't depend on the airflow in the room. They can detect smoke before it's even visible, so they are a great option for when it's imperative that you have very early smoke detection for any application. General uses would cover Comms Rooms, Clean Rooms, Correctional Facilities, and areas containing goods easily damaged by Fire and Smoke.
ASDs can be used in dusty or dirty environments if correct design, installation, selection of the most suitable detector, and recommended maintenance processes are followed.
